Wow, B-day is Here!!!!

I’ve been counting down to my b-day on the blog counter & now it’s here. Is it any different than yesterday or the day before?? I think the main difference may be that it allows me to reflect on past years & makes me think.

Wow, the big 3-0, the 20+10. Hmmm, so much has happened during this time. First steps, first words, kindergarten, grade school, middle, & high schools. Let’s not forget the first love, driver’s license, college, graduations, & more. There’s so much to think on!!

What will the next milestones ahead bring? I’m sure so much more. Maybe this is some sort of turning point. I mean, the 20s are over; I’ve learned many lessons there. Not ones that I want to keep relearning & repeating, but ones that I want to carry with me in order to do better, to be better, to continue to grow. Yes, mistakes were made, but mistakes make me who I am & then some.

Yes, birthdays are a time of reflection, but a time of joy as well. There are so many people who haven’t made it to the next birthday, so many babies who haven’t seen the first birthday. In this essence, so many people should count their blessings rather than seeing a birthday as getting “older” rather than becoming WISER.

I’m grateful to have made it this far. I loved my 20s, although things weren’t always good. By the grace of God, I made it through!!! I’m looking forward to what is to come, while remembering what has passed as a blessed part of my life. I couldn’t ask for more.

Until next time.

Blessings.

  1. Happy belated birthday! I’ve heard that turning 30 is a big deal the same way turning 16, 18, and 21 are. I’m only in my 2nd year of my 20’s and I already find myself reflecting on everything that I’ve done/learned since I was a teenager. I recently met a man who’s 35 that said he wishes he could be 21 all over again. I don’t see why or how anyone could wish to go back to those years. All the things you worry about in your 20’s are minor to the things you worry about once you reach 30 and older (I’m assuming). I’m sure it feels different even though you’re only 30 and a day, lol. Then again, it may not have sunk in yet. Either way, enjoy being a 30 something WOMAN vs. a 20 something GIRL. 🙂
