Scripture: Job 12:15 If he holds back the rain, the earth becomes a desert. If he releases the waters, they flood the earth. (New Living Translation)
Nugget: This scripture reminds me of life, sometimes there’s so much going on & coming at us, that it feels like continual rain. Other times, it feels like nothing is coming our way, so there’s a complete drought. However, this is also a reminder that there is a balance as well: there will be good days & bad days, but God is the balance that brings it all together.
If we don’t have the rain, we don’t appreciate the sunshine. If we don’t have the sunshine, we don’t appreciate the rain. Maybe this is what God wants us to see with life: the bad times make us appreciate the good, while the good makes us remember the lessons of the bad that comes our way. All in all, we truly can’t have one without the other.
Quote: “Behind the clouds is the sun still shining; Thy fate is the common fate of all, Into each life some rain must fall.” –Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
