Scriptures: Jeremiah 8:4-5 4“Jeremiah, say to the people, ‘This is what the LORD says: ‘When people fall down, don’t they get up again? When they discover they’re on the wrong road, don’t they turn back? 5Then why do these people stay on their self-destructive path? Why do the people of Jerusalem refuse to turn back? They cling tightly to their lies and will not turn around. (NLT)
Nugget: We’ve all gone down the wrong path or road at some point in our lives. Our journeys have taken us through various trials & tribulations that we’ve had to learn from. We usually learn from these instances & grow from them.
However, as noted in these scriptures, there are times where people can stay on self-destructive paths, reliving them over & over. We may have even found ourselves on some too. “Why?” is what we’ve likely asked when this occurs. This is when self-reflection & a talk with God are needed. In seeking Him, He can help in identifying where we need change & growth.
Are there destructive paths or repeated actions you need to turn back from? Something you’re holding on to tightly that needs to be released? Seek God for growth & change in these areas; He’s always working.
Quote: “No matter how far you have gone on the wrong road, you can still turn around.” -Unknown
