Scriptures: Mark 2:3-5 3Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. 4And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. 5When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” (NKJV)
Nugget: In the scriptures prior to these, it’s mentioned that Jesus was preaching & word was getting out that Jesus was present. This, however, drew a large crowd that made it difficult for the 4 men to get through with the paralytic who needed healing. These 4 men took another route & broke through the roof to get their friend into the house where Jesus was preaching. Because of their faith & persistence, Jesus healed the man.
These actions made me think of the friends & family who’ve carried me when I couldn’t carry myself. A lot of times, it’s the people around us that both push & carry us through life’s most difficult challenges & circumstances. Where would we be without their faith, encouragement, & persistence? Looking back, there are definitely things that could’ve played out differently.
Sometimes our blessings can be found in those around us & their ability not to give up on us.
