Daily Scriptures 3/27/12

Scriptures: Matthew 18:21-22 21Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. (NKJV)

Nugget: My Pastor has been giving a great series on forgiveness. The series has been very eye-opening. It truly allows us to examine ourselves & to see where we have unforgiveness in our lives & hearts. It allows us to see where we hold onto unforgiveness & how it can hinder us; as my Pastor says, “Cripples us.”

Peter asks Jesus how many times we should forgive those who sin against us; the answer, “seventy times seven.” This is a lot of times! I have to admit, I’m working on the area of forgiveness with some people, but I’m happy to admit that God is in the process & He truly continues to change me & my heart.

Don’t let unforgiveness cripple you & all that God has in store for you.

Quote: “When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free.” -Katherine Ponder
