Last week, we lost another great in the entertainment industry, Ms. Whitney Houston. I don’t think it really hit me until I watched Oprah’s re-airing of her interview from 2009 with Whitney this past Thursday evening. While watching the show, many emotions came about, one of them being the feeling of wanting Whitney to achieve all that she set out to do, both personally & professionally. Sadly, as I watched the show, I realized, she wouldn’t get the chance. This is when the tears began.
Today, I like many others, watched her home-going on television. It was an amazing thing to see because everything still felt unreal. Such a beautiful, talented individual—just gone. But I’m reminded, God truly knows His plans. I pray that Whitney has finally found the peace she sought.
She was definitely loved by many; I just wish she saw herself the way we saw her. I mean, one of my first tapes (yes, I said “tapes”) was a Whitney Houston tape. My parents, siblings, & I would watch Whitney on TV! My siblings & I grew up listening to her because of this; everyone wanted to “Dance With Somebody”. What an impact she’s made on so many (& continues to make)!
May God rest her soul as our prayers go up for her family, friends, & fellow fans. Ms. Houston, you’ll truly be missed, but your music & those you touched will live on.
Enjoy life, Everyone. It’s truly a precious gift from God.
Until next time.
Blessings,
