Daily Scriptures 12/6/10

Scriptures: John 10:14-15 14“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. (NIV)

Nugget: I thank God for Jesus. No one knows me & loves me so unconditionally.

He knows us, loves us, & accepts us. Not only this, but He laid down His life for us. Who else has this type of love for us?! Others may love us; however, the Lord’s love is a different type of love. At times, it’s indescribable!

No matter what you’re going through & no matter what you’re facing. Know that the Lord’s love prevails all.

Quote: “God is love. He didn’t need us. But he wanted us. And that is the most amazing thing.” -Rick Warren

Daily Scriptures 1/26/10

Scripture: James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. (NIV)

Nugget: Humble means, “not proud or haughty: not arrogant or assertive” (Webster’s Dictionary). In order to humble ourselves, this is the attitude we must have, removing arrogance and pride.

To humble ourselves before God takes work for many of us; because many think that it’s “all about them”. If this were the case, what do they need God for? Continue to work on humbleness, allowing God to step in. A humble spirit goes a long way & when God lifts you up, there’s nothing like it.

Quote: “Jesus is the God whom we can approach without pride and before whom we can humble ourselves without despair.” –Blaise Pascal
