Merry Christmas!!
Today, I was out-and-about running a few remaining errands before the stores closed tomorrow for Christmas. There definitely was a lot going on in the stores, which is to be expected; however, at some points, it felt like Black Friday all over again! LOL. But my intent about being out didn’t have to do with Christmas shopping, rather than running regular errands that happened to fall on today.
In the midst of all of this, I began to take in my surroundings & what people were saying. Many conversations & actions focused on last minute gifts that were needed. But somewhere in it all, I began to wonder if people overlooked the real meaning of Christmas—the birth of our Lord & Savior, Jesus. Do we get so caught up on the shopping, that the importance of Christmas is forgotten? Do we thank God for the real gift—our salvation because of Christ? We have the best gift that we can appreciate each & every day we’re alive.
Take time to reflect on Christmas, it’s meaning, & how much God loves us. He gave His only Son for our sins. Take time with loved ones & enjoy every moment, as life is fleeting. Praise more, smile more, appreciate more, & live more. Jesus died for us to live life & to live it more abundantly; He’s the true gift of CHRISTmas.
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” -Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
Wishing you & your family a Merry Christmas!!! May God bless you always.
Until next time.

Merry Christmas!!!
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy upcoming 2012!!
Let us remember the importance of today and all that it entails. We’re celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Let us also remember those who are less fortunate and those who are experiencing loss during these times. In watching the Weather Channel this morning, they were showing the stories of families who were affected by the wild fires in Texas this year; there was a little girl crying and telling her story of how she missed the toys that she lost—one in particular was her Barbie doll. In driving to church this morning, I saw a homeless man on the side of the road, going along his way. In watching CNN today, they were broadcasting news on churches in Nigeria that were being bombed while conducting their Christmas church services—-there were lives lost.
It’s okay to appreciate the gifts and to give them, but let us not lose sight of God in every situation, in every loved one, & in the giving that we do. Jesus is the reason for the season; He’s in the midst of everything.
“This is Christmas: not the tinsel, not the giving and receiving, not even the carols, but the humble heart that receives anew the wondrous gift, the Christ.” -Frank McKibben
May we pray for each other today & always. We’re in this together!! Let us take nothing & no one for granted.
“Christmas gift suggestions: To your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect.” -Oren Arnold
Until next time.
