I had to search for this one as I didn’t know who sings the song. Sis. Kathy @ church sings a lovely & wonderful version of this song that will bring tears to your eyes! The version I found is with the Radio Angels featuring Angela Spivey, who really gets into the song!! I love this song.
Chorus
How many times must I prove how much, I love you,
how many ways, must my love for you I show,
how many times, must I rescue you from trouble, so you would know,
just how much I love you(repeat)
Verse
How many days, must I be a fence all around you and how many nights, must I wipe your tears away, and how many storms, must I bring you safely through, so you would know, just how much I love you
Leader-Oh didn’t I
Choir-Wake you up this morning, (you were closed) closed in your right mind
Lead-When you woke up on a problem
Choir-Woke up on a problem (Didn’t I, Didn’t I) step right in on time
Leader-When you were weak along life’s journey
Choir-Weak along life’s journey (my angels) my angels carried you
So you would know just how much I love you
Leader-Oh didn’t I,
Choir-Put food on your table
Lead-Show up!
Choir-Show up! (when your bills were due) when your bills were due
Lead-When the pain was racking your body
Choir-Pain was racking your body (Didn’t I, didn’t I) send healing down to you
Lead-When you were lost in sin and sorrow
Choir-Lost in sin and sorrow (I died) I died to set you free
So you would know just how much I love you
Repeat
Choir-So you would know (leader adlibs) so you would know how much (repeat)
Ending-So you would know just how much I love you
This song is also on the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir’s High & Lifted Up CD.
Until next time.
Blessings,
