Scripture: Proverbs 20:5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

Nugget: This is one of my favorite verses in proverbs, because it speaks to the importance of listening. There are people around us who have great insights that we can benefit from; but we don’t take the time to “draw it out”. Usually, it’s that we are too busy talking; not patient enough to listen; and most times – it is also that we don’t ask questions or the right questions. You will be amazed at what types of insights you get from the most unlikely sources, when you take time to ask the right questions AND are patient enough to listen without interruption. Remember – counsel in the heart of a man is like deep water…….asking the right questions enables you to draw the water out from the well.
