Daily Scriptures 1/25/10

Scriptures: Genesis 3:1,4-5 1Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 4″You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5″For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (NIV)

Nugget: Satan’s primary job is to make you doubt what God has said; his favorite line must be “did God really say?” Or “Did God really mean…?” Once he has gotten you to start “re-thinking” what God said, his next move is to make the sin look more exciting than it really is – basically get you to sin to obtain what God has already freely given you. He told Eve that she will be like God – but God already created man in “His image”. God help us to resist the devil, by refusing to entertain doubt regarding what God has told us.

Quote: “Ignorance is the only weapon Satan can effectively use against you.” – Mike Murdock
