Wow, where did 2015 go? It was a blur of a year! It definitely was a year that presented challenges, loss, & blessings to me. As with many of us, I could’ve done without the loss, but am realizing that God makes everything happen for a reason. This by no way belittles or takes away the pain, struggle, etc. I felt, but I am growing through it—most times one day at a time.
A few years ago, I began to select an anchor verse to reflect on throughout the year. This would be the verse that I would go back to when things were getting away from me or challenges would come up; also one that would encourage me for the year. Last year I selected two. For 2016, 2 verses have also resonated in my heart & mind. These are:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. –Jeremiah 29:11
A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. –Proverbs 18:16
It’s time for me to start refocusing on God & His plans for me. It’s truly time for me to grow in my purpose & the gifts He has placed in me. So many times, it’s easy to get sidetracked or brought down by things & people, but these shouldn’t be the things that any of us allow to keep us from the goodness & blessings that God has for us.
Someone told me a few weeks ago, “The thing that will make 2016 different is YOU. It will be different because you’re different.” I agree completely.
How can your 2016 be different? How are you different?
May 2016 be YOUR year to grow in God, to be a better you, & receive your heart’s desires.

Sometimes, it’s easy for us to focus on what we don’t have, while ignoring the many blessings that we do have. Don’t ignore all that God has done for you
