Scripture: James 4:3 And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. (NLT)
Nugget: There are things that we pray for & want that God will not give us. These things are usually asked for with the wrong motives & with the wrong intentions (pleasure, envy, jealousy, not in God’s will, etc).
We must seek discernment in the things we’re asking for & check our hearts, as well as motives, in the process. Too many times the things we want aren’t necessarily for us, & if given to us, there are consequences to face.
What we want & what we need are two different things; take time to do a self-evaluation & allow God to lead.
