Regrouping is Necessary

It’s been a few months since my last blog post, and as some may say, life has been lifing!  I can definitely relate.  So much has been going on in my life, from travel and health to work and working on my next novel.  With everything happening, I needed to take some time to regroup, pray, and reflect on my next steps and the direction I feel God is leading me.

Sometimes, we need to step back, take a breath, and spend time with God before moving forward.  And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing.

During this time, it feels like I haven’t been moving, but in reality, I have been.  I have been taking the time to get back on track with God while getting back on track with myself.  You may be thinking, “What does she mean?”  It means that I had to admit to myself that I was not on track and that I didn’t feel like myself.  Simply stated, but still difficult.

I found myself admitting that I was dealing with a lot and still “trying to figure it out.” It took some serious honesty with myself to acknowledge that I didn’t have all the answers and that I needed to take a step back, give myself some grace, and spend time praying about what comes next to get “back to me”.

I was then able to take the baby steps forward.  Praise God!!  And in taking these baby steps, while extending myself grace, I finally realized that it’s okay to admit that I needed to do all of this to move forward and that I didn’t need to get it right all the time.  I just needed to be me in the season I was in regardless of whatever I may be going through.

In all of this, I continue to realize one thing is for certain: I cannot lose sight of what God has called me to do—to encourage and to inspire others while letting them know about Him.  My own experiences continue to help me to do this, even when being vulnerable during the process.

It’s okay to regroup and reconnect with God and yourself.  If this is something you need to do, give yourself the grace and the time to do so.

Until next time.

Blessings,
