Unconditional Love

It’s so easy to get caught up in the hype of what society intends for Valentine’s Day to be.  It’s seen as the day for love, lovers, showing love, receiving gifts, dinner dates, and even romantic comedies.  However, Valentine’s Day can also be the day that brings upon the feelings of heartache and heartbreak for some.  It’s the day where singles may feel more singled-out and those who are having a tough time in the love department feel it more.

BUT….Who should be the main source of one’s love???  GOD.

When I think about God and the unconditional love He has for us all, my heart swells.  I also can’t help but to smile.  God gave His only son, Jesus, to die for our sins.  I don’t know many people who would do this; actually, I don’t know any!  Yet, we can try to find love in various people and things, when the truest unconditional love is in and from God.

Now some may be saying that they are looking for or need the physical touch of a person, but even these can be fading occurrences which can come and go, BUT GOD’s love is ever-present.  It doesn’t come and go with a day on the calendar nor is it attached to the purchase of a gift, dinner, etc.  His love occurred with the sacrifice and life of His Son!!!

If you’re feeling down today, I want to remind you that you are unconditionally loved.  Don’t let a day define love for you—God’s love is not attached to a day.  Regardless of what the calendar may say today is, God’s love is every day and His unconditional love is consistently present.  Don’t overlook it!!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. –John 3:16 NKJV

Until next time.

Blessings,
