Scripture: Acts 26:21 For these reasons the Jews seized me in the temple and tried to kill me. (NKJV)
Nugget: In my daily reading, I came across this scripture & one of the explanations provided for it. In earlier scriptures, Paul was defending himself regarding the actions he took to preach the Gospel to others. At the same time, he was being persecuted regarding these actions.
My reading went on to reveal Paul & his experiences in a different light; it addressed how people around us, whether it be family, co-workers, church family, friends, etc. can be the ones who we allow to spiritually & emotionally kill us. It went on to say how we allow some people to drain us & bring us down.
This reading reminded me to reflect on relationships I have, or have had, in which this was occurring. What a reminder to evaluate our relationships & not to allow people, their words, or actions to change what God has shown us about our lives & this journey He has for us. We must say no to accepting these individuals in our lives, thoughts, & spiritual well-being. Don’t let these people have such an effect on you that it hinders what God is preparing you for.
