Changes

Every day I learn more & more about changes. Just when I think that I have experienced something, & learned from it, God provides another opportunity for me to learn again.

What I know for certain is that I must be open to the possibility of change & what God wants me to gain from my experiences. In all possibilities, there’s the chance to grow from them. Funny how God makes this happen when I don’t expect or in the most inopportune time!

My recent experiences have been dealing with friendships & the relationships I’ve developed with these friends. I began to realize that many of us use the term “friend” so easily; when in reality the term friend is meant for someone who has a close connection with you, someone who’s been there with you & seen it all—both the good & the bad. And guess what, they are still there. A friend has been there with you & for you; they’ve seen you grow & know where you came from while understanding where you’re trying to go! So the term “friend” shouldn’t be used lightly. To me, my friends are a part of my family.

My recent experiences have also reminded me of the term “acquaintance”. Yep, sometimes we confuse these with friends, when in reality, these individuals are just passing through or sometimes, they serve a particular purpose in our lives & then go on. Not to undermine their roles at certain points-in-time in one’s life, but the best thing to do is not to get them confused with the term “friend” & keep them in your life beyond the time God intends for them to be.

I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason; we may not see it or know why it’s happening at the time, but we usually learn the reason later on. Also, if we don’t learn from it, there could’ve been a lesson in it for the other person.

Look for the lessons to be learned in the experiences you have; God has a purpose for everything!

Until next time.

Changes

So, I’ve crossed over into the world of owning an iPhone! What a big change for me. LOL. There’s definitely going to take some time for me to get used to it (my friend said I’ll be okay after a week!).

I’m getting better about change. It’s so easy to get caught up in what we always do, be the way we’ve always been, & many, staying that way. BUT change is definitely good at times. Without change, there’s little or no progress. Where does the growth occur if we always do the same thing year after year? day after day?

This year, I’ve learned a lot about trying new things & thinking outside of the box. We can make the box so little & confined that we cannot see past the borders we’ve established. With this said, do something new, try that change for the better! Whether it be something as simple as going a different route to work (I’ve done this & found a quicker way than I’ve been going) or going to that restaurant you’ve always wanted to try! Do something.

Change can be good!!!

Until next time.

Blessings,

Lisi P.
