TGIF!!!!

TGIF!!! Friday is here. We mainly wait all week for this day, especially since the weekend is on the horizon. Yes, there’s nothing like Friday!

On today, one of my sista-friends celebrates her 30th birthday. Happy Birthday, Ms. A.A.A!!! Yes girlie, enjoy today & all that it brings.

Looking at my friend turning 30, makes me reflect on prior years. Yes, at 30, one is definitely still young, but 3 decades have gone by: from being an infant to a young adult. A lot has happened in that time, especially growth into a better person (hopefully!).

So in being a better person, let us look at cleaning things up a bit & letting go of the things we don’t need. For instance, are there things in your closets that you don’t wear, haven’t looked at in or haven’t fit into in a few months or years??? Clean the closet and get rid of the stuff! This, my friends, is a form of baggage. More stuff to hang onto for no reason. Is it time to reevaluate some other things that need to be released? Then do this too. Because things & people will become the weights in your life that you don’t realize.

As we look back,

  • 0-10 years old was childhood (the good ol’ days!)
  • 11-20 was where we went from elementary, middle, high schools to college (wow!)
  • 21-30 was where most graduated college, found some direction regarding a career/etc., got married, traveled, etc. (yes, more falls into this age bracket!!)

This outline is just a small synopsis of the events that have occurred. These milestones let us know that from this point on, we need to be surrounded by friends & family who are there for the long haul; those people who can help raise our children, pray for us, be there when we are sick, lift us up no matter what. There’s more, of course. The point is, the tides are changing & there will be some important stuff coming up that we will face. A strong support system will be needed.

The gist of today’s message is to clean up, clean out, reevaluate, & move forward to what’s in store! Check your surroundings & those who surround you. Ladies & gents, a new horizon is upon us.

Philippians 3:13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead (New Living Translation)

Blessings.

Until next time,
