Let’s Talk Travel

Okay all. My friends & I were supposed to go to Cancun for Memorial weekend. Now, we’ve been planning this trip for months: have airline tickets, resort booked, etc. The resort had no problem refunding our money, but Mexicana Airlines was not giving full credits past May 15th purchase dates. So now, we have to pay a cancellation fee & a rescheduling fee when we decide to book again. Needless to say, after all of this is done, there’s barely enough left to travel on.

I have to say, my experience w/ the Mexicana Airlines Customer Service Department has been less than stellar. I asked the guy why in the world are they not giving full credits for the whole month of May; he replied that they are doing full business. Now those who know me well know that I told this “gentleman” that the whole reason they are doing this is to make $ off of the Memorial weekend because the whole swine flu epidemic is stopping cruise ships from going to Cancun. He said that all businesses are operating differently. Again I went on about the swine flu having a high number of cases in Mexico, he informed me that it started in Wisconsin!!!!

I would relay the rest of the conversation, but it’s pointless. These people are not about to give any full credits towards future purchases after the 15th, regardless of how you feel about your safety & health.

I will not be using this company ever again after I redeem my “credit”.

Until next time.

Blessings,

  1. Oh, I’m sorry to hear about this! I can’t believe that they are not willing to give you all your money back though. What a bummer!!! Is there a way for you to possibly rebook for a later date? Just a thought….which I’m sure you’ve already taken into consideration….
