My friends & I attended an LL Cool J concert last night! What a great time we had. I mainly listened to LL growing up (courtesy of my brothers!), but I’ve seen a few of his movies too. The concert was good; flashbacks of the songs I heard growing up with a few new ones in there. He performed for about 2 hours, which was no joke considering here it was 90 degrees & felt like 99!!! At one point, he said, “I feel like I’m in a microwave wrapped in aluminum foil & running in biker shorts”!!!!!!!!!!! LOL, but it truly was hot.
LL is definitely someone who has gotten better with age; it’s like he hasn’t aged! Very attractive, handsome, & fine. LOL 🙂 The pics we’ve seen on TV & what we’ve seen in movies don’t do him justice. I know his wife has to be a happy woman 🙂
On another note, it’s good to see someone who has been in the industry for over 20 years still doing his thing. I know the industry is a difficult one, so longevity is rare. LL also introduced a new singer, Luther Jackson, who won his singing contest sponsored on http://www.boomdizzle.com/. Luther did a 2009 version of LL’s hit, “I Need Love” & performed his own song, “My Dream”. Very talented; he sounded a little like Ne-yo to me. This is what the Metro Times had to say about Jackson, “Jackson won a one-record single deal and the opportunity to perform onstage with LL Cool J. What’s especially inspiring is that Jackson was born with only one ear and is partially deaf but he claims he never let his dream of being a musician stop him, even if it meant sacrificing his career in music to stay in Detroit to take care of his ailing grandmother, who recently passed away.” I hope that his career continues to grow.
Until next time.
Blessings,
