Scriptures: Genesis 45:4 & 8: 4And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. 8So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

Nugget: Joseph forgave his brothers for selling him into slavery. He saw God’s purpose in their iniquity. He didn’t deny the evil they had done, but he said despite this evil, don’t worry, because God had a bigger plan. Amazing. It’s not easy to not live in the past; to not try to understand, to reconcile why the heck your brothers did that, even when you know the outcome.

There is just something about human nature that seeks to understand. But it’s better to have grace like Joseph to see God’s hand and purpose even in the evil that was done to you, and write-off the evil. Easier said than done; but absolutely key for us to do in this journey called life.
