Scriptures: I Samuel 13:11-12 11And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash; 12Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.
Nugget: Saul was driven to make the offering because:
a) he felt he was losing control
b) things were not happening on his own time schedule
c) his own estimated calculations of what would happen if he didn’t act.
Sounds familiar right? We need to get comfortable in “losing control”; and not working things out according to our own reasoning; lastly, things not happening on our own time schedule. The most important thing is “did God say”? If God said, then pray for grace to endure until you obtain what He promised.
