Today is the day!!! “The Princess and the Frog” debuts today. I am excited about the opportunity to see the full movie (back in August, at my conference, we had a sneak preview of the first 30 minutes of the movie).
This is truly history for many African American/Black women and girls who dreamed of seeing a princess that looks like them. It definitely is a good thing to see a princess that “looks like us”. I’m still amazed that it’s taken this long for it to happen. I already went out and purchased my “Princess Tiana” doll 🙂 Which was definitely a hard find; they are flying off the shelves.
Well, Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen will definitely have a big audience in store for them. With the voice talents of Anika Noni Rose (“Dream Girls”), Oprah, John Goodman, Terrence Howard, and more, we’re in for a treat! Let’s not forget the music and the setting being in New Orleans, Louisiana!
