Scripture: Deuteronomy 4:2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you. (NIV)
Nugget: Moses was providing instruction from the Lord to the people of Israel. In the scriptures to follow, he provided specific commands that were not to be diverted from.
When reading this scripture, I focused on the words “do not subtract from it”; this reminds me of how people can add & subtract from God’s word. In doing this, conforming the word as to how they see fit. The thing is, this is not what God intended; His word is His word, period.
Be mindful of how you interpret God’s word & who you receive instruction from; pray for discernment & understanding. God will truly provide this!
