Scripture: James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (NIV)
Nugget: We’ve all heard the saying, “We have not because we ask not.” So why shouldn’t this include asking for wisdom as well?
There are many things we don’t understand, many things we don’t know—sometimes, we can only receive understanding & knowledge by praying for it. For example, during my undergraduate studies, a friend gave me the best advice as a college student: “To pray before each & every test. Ask God for the knowledge & favor to pass the test.” Of course I had to do my part & prepare for the test, but God was with me through it all.
I feel that I learn something new each day; God is good for the promises He makes—-let us pray for wisdom & knowledge today. Nothing is too big for our God; all we must do is ask & believe.
