Scripture: Isaiah 49:4 I replied, “But my work seems so useless! I have spent my strength for nothing and to no purpose. Yet I leave it all in the LORD’s hand; I will trust God for my reward.” (NLT)
Nugget: There are many times we feel the words expressed in this scripture; we feel that we’ve done our best, given everything to the work we complete, the jobs we have, & the people we help, & it seems as if it’s all in vain. During these same times, it’s as if we’ve worked ourselves until we couldn’t work ourselves any more.
I’m learning that there’s nothing in our lives we cannot turn over to God; this includes matters of work (whether this be in our professional or personal lives). There’s nothing God can’t handle for us—we must seek His guidance through prayer, meditation, & spending time with Him. This allows us to trust Him & to leave everything in our Lord’s hands. There’s nothing we shouldn’t seek from Him!
Quote: “All God’s revelations are sealed to us until they are opened to us by obedience. You will never get them open by philosophy or thinking. Immediately you obey, a flash of light comes. Let God’s truth work in you by soaking in it, not by worrying into it. Obey God in the thing He is at present showing you, and instantly the next thing is opened up. We say, I suppose I shall understand these things some day. You can understand them now: it is not study that does it, but obedience. The tiniest fragment of obedience, and heaven opens up and the profoundest truths of God are yours straight away. God will never reveal more truth about Himself till you obey what you know already. Beware of being wise and prudent.” -Oswald Chambers
