Daily Scriptures 3/19/13

Scriptures: Matthew 6:14-15 14For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (NIV)

Nugget: Forgiveness is something many of us struggle with on a daily basis. I’ve found that one of the most difficult things to do is to forgive. We say that we’ve forgiven someone, but have we truly? What does it mean to really forgive someone? This has been a question that has been on my heart for a little while.

The other day at church, there was a great word on forgiveness. It has been one of the most powerful sermons I’ve heard at my church; the sermon touched me to the core—so much so, that I cried & cried during it & after it. The thing is no matter how hard I tried to stop crying, I couldn’t. I know that God was speaking directly to me with the words that were spoken.

I continue to work on forgiveness as indicated in today’s scriptures, but I know the true strength to do this will come from God & all the love that He’s shown to me in allowing Jesus to die for my sins. I need to build upon this strength to seek God on my journey to forgiving others, as well as myself. I pray that these words touch you in some way!
