Scripture: Proverbs 24:27 Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready; after that, build your house. (NIV)
Nugget: In reading this scripture, I’m reminded to be prepared, or to be in preparation, regarding what’s to come. So many times we feel that we are ready for something, when in reality, we aren’t even prepared for it. Just think of the things that you’ve tried to obtain too soon & how there was a lesson (or lessons) learned from it.
One analogy that I like to use is to “not to remove the training wheels too early.” Envision teaching a child to ride a bike, but removing the training wheels too early; most times, the child ends up hurt. I’m not saying to leave the training wheels on the bike forever (*smile*), but there is preparation & training before the training wheels are removed. This is how God is with us.
Are you getting prepared, gaining knowledge, growing in the meantime, etc. regarding what you’re seeking from God? If not, it’s never too late to start to get ready in order to “build your house.”
