Daily Scriptures 3/10/14

Scripture: Proverbs 6:28 Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched? (NIV)

Nugget: There’s the saying, “If you play with fire, you’re going to get burned.” The scripture above reminds me of this saying. How many times have we done something, knowing it wasn’t right, knowing it shouldn’t be done, & faced the consequences behind it? Whether it be from disobeying our parents to staying out/up too late, or more, we definitely felt the results of being burned (or as the scripture states, “scorched”).

God gives us free will—it’s up to us what we do with this free will. We should use wise discernment in the actions we take & if these actions are outside of “what is right to do”, expect the consequences behind them. There’s no way to continue down a dangerous path, expecting it to be easy.

Use the free will God has blessed you with wisely! Try to avoid actions & situations that lead down the path of destruction.
