Scriptures: John 15:13&15 13Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. (NIV)
Nugget: I’ve heard the saying, “Friends are the family you choose for yourself”, but I believe that God does the choosing. There are many people who’ve crossed our paths in life, but only a few we can call true friends. The people who will be there no matter what & through thick & thin; the ones who take the good with the bad, while watching your growth through it all.
Jesus mentions in these scriptures that there’s no greater love than to lay down one’s life for a friend & that He no longer called people servants, but friends. What an important reminder of the role of friendship in our lives & those who love us.
