Scripture: Mark 14:50 Then they all forsook Him and fled. (NKJV)
Nugget: When the high priest & the multitude came to take Jesus for the crucifixion, Judas had just betrayed Him. Additionally, there were many who were with Jesus who forsook Him & just left. It’s amazing that Jesus was abandoned by those who walked with Him, who He loved, & those whom He did so many things for. He would’ve stood by them until the end.
This made me reflect on the relationships & friendships that I have; those people & connections that are so important to me. We’ve all experienced challenges & struggles in our lives, but there’s nothing like the support of a strong foundation to help us through. True enough, these relationships may experience ups & downs, but no matter what, we know these people will be there for us–these are the ones we must hold on to.
Even though Jesus had people abandon Him, He had those who came back (His mother, Mary, & Mary Magdalene). As with Jesus, those who are a part of our foundation will always come back & remain.
Quote: “The best relationships in our lives are the best not because they have been the happiest ones, they are that way because they have stayed strong through the most tormentful of storms.” -Pandora Poikilos
