Scripture: Philippians 4:17 Really, it is not that I want to receive gifts from you, but I want you to have the good that comes from giving. (NCV)
Nugget: In the scriptures before & after this one, Paul mentioned to the Philippians that they were the only ones who helped him with their giving regarding his necessities; they were the ones who understood Paul’s plight & fight in what he was facing.
It’s good to have these types of people around us; the ones who will stand by our side no matter what. These are the people who understand where we are, where we’re trying to go, & how hard we work—-they can see themselves in our shoes.
For these people, we don’t merely want to receive gifts from them; we want the good to be returned to them. In a way, “What goes around, comes right back around”, but in a good way! These friends/family/angels are the ones who deserve so much for standing by us during our time of need, while encouraging us. Very truly rare indeed!
Take time today to thank these people & to thank God for the blessing they are in your life.
