Scriptures: II Corinthians 3:16&18 16But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 18So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. (NLT)
Nugget: When searching through emails the other day, I came across one that I wasn’t searching for. It was filed away & I’d honestly forgotten about it; the exchange wasn’t a bad one, but not a good one either. In reading the email now, I could see it differently. I could see where the exchange revealed to me that the friendship was winding down & the next part of my journey had already started. Yet, there were things that were unresolved with this individual & I had outgrown the situation, that season was over.
That’s how it is in life; there will be times when we don’t understand why something is happening or why a change is occurring, but God has a way of changing us in areas we don’t realize—He removes the veil that blocked us from Him & at times, from others, who become part of our growing process.
Most times, we don’t realize how much we have changed, becoming more like Him, until something triggers us to reflect on it. I know I’m guilty of thinking I still have so far to go, but fail to recognize how far I’ve come.
Don’t only reflect on what you have yet to do, thank God for the transformation that has already occurred.
Quote: “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but building the new.” -Socrates
