Scripture: Genesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” (NKJV)
Nugget: God felt it was not good for Adam to be alone – without aid or help. God had just placed man in the Garden of Eden and told him to cultivate it and keep it. Couples of things come to mind here:
a) You only need help when you have something you are doing. Marriage is not about 2 kids and a dog or “Mr. and Mrs.”; it’s about fulfilling a mission.
b) Not any or every help will do – a helper “suitable” to you is what is required.
c) Lastly, marriage was not Adam’s idea – it was God’s idea. Stop being over anxious – God knows what you need.God help us!
