Scriptures: Luke 2:6-7 6 And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. 7 She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them. (New Living Translation)
Nugget: These scriptures & the ones prior to this one tell of Joseph & Mary travelling to the inn for Jesus’ birth. There was a lot going on: there was nowhere for them to stay in the inn, Mary was pregnant & engaged to Joseph, but the baby was not his, & more. However, in the midst of the craziness, our Savior was born. This is what Christmas is all about: the birth of Jesus!
Let’s not get caught up in what society is telling us & has outlined Christmas to be. Yes, it’s okay to receive & to give gifts, but more importantly, to remember the true meaning of Christmas.
