Tyler Perry’s “The Family That Preys”

Today I had the opportunity to see Tyler Perry’s “The Family That Preys”. I heard it was a good movie & the previews got my attention. Needless to say, it was a good movie & will make you think.

I won’t tell the movie, just in case you want to see it πŸ™‚ I can, however, say that Tyler P. did a great job in casting the characters: Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard, Sanaa Lathan, Taraji P. Henson, Robin Givens. They fit the characters well. Just in case you want to see a clip, you can check it out:

There’s one quote from the movie I’d like to discuss: “Are you living or are you existing?”. Living, according to Webster’s Dictionary, is “exhibiting the life or motion of nature; action, functioning.” Existing is “continuing to be.” So we can continue to be (sitting in bed all day, lounging around) & not have any function or action behind it, or chose to get up & take some action.

There should be at least one thing in life you should want to live for; one thing that makes you want to get out of bed each day: the love of God, to feed a pet, to go to the bathroom, SOMETHING. Basically, don’t just BE, LIVE.

I know we all have our down days, but the good truly outweighs the bad when you look at it all. If you feel that you can’t think of one thing that’s good, start making a list & get back to me on it πŸ™‚

Until next time.

Blessings,

Lisi P.
