For My Singletons, Part 2

I came across this quote recently:

It’s not until you learn to truly enjoy being single that the right person will finally come along. –Christina Pagliarulo

It’s so true; learning how to be a complete individual before that person comes into your life. I’ve heard so many times, “he completes me” or “she completes me”, but isn’t a relationship about 2 complete individuals coming together? So many people think that the happiness doesn’t exist until that other person arrives. Aren’t you supposed to be “living” and “doing your thang” before they get there???

I think that so many people get caught up in the fairytales they teach & tell us while growing up. Now I love a fairytale, but I completely believe that relationships, let alone marriage, are a lot of work & compromise. AND some people stay focused on that fairytale instead of paying attention to what’s really going on: be complete & happy with yourself before you think you can be complete & happy with another person. Because of regardless of what you may think, after the wedding, you have to go home with this person & continue the “fairytale”.

I’m all for love & finding the one, but I had to make sure I got myself to a place of being complete within my mind, heart, body, & with God, because until I got to this point, I wouldn’t accept what God would send my way.

I could go on & on, but the rest may be for another time. 🙂

Until next time.

Blessings,

~Lisi P.

  1. Hi I’m Christina Pagliarulo and I am glad that there are people out there who agree with me. And you are totally right, you can’t love anyone else until you love yourself. The whole reason my boyfriend fell in love with me is because he saw a complete, happy and sucessful person, and he could tell I was just fine with being single. That alone made him want me to want him. He wanted to be a part of my happiness, not the root of it. Keep writing Lisi you got some good things to say that can really help people. Much Love -Christina Pagliarulo
