Daily Scriptures 10/9/09

Scriptures: 1 Samuel 3:10-11 10And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. 11And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

Nugget: God had called Samuel three times prior, but it was only after Samuel said “Speak, for thy servant heareth” that He spoke. God will never force Himself on us. He is waiting for an invitation to come in. He is there; ready to go – but will never intrude. But once we invite Him, He will come in. That is why anything or anyone that is manipulative is not of God, no matter how much they call God’s name. God is and always has been a God of choice and free-will.
