Daily Scriptures 3/29/11

Scripture: Numbers 11:1 Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the LORD, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the LORD burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp. (NIV)

Nugget: Moses was leading his people to the Promised Land as God instructed, however, the people complained majority of the way. They complained about their hardships, lack of food, etc. They definitely weren’t focused on their blessings at the moment & the things to come. (Sound familiar??) In all reality, they didn’t think that God would get angry about their complaints & react to this anger.

We have the same tendencies as the people in this scripture. We complain from time-to-time rather than counting the numerous blessings we have. We also may think that God doesn’t get angry about this, but who wouldn’t get angry with those who they give & give to while not feeling appreciated? I’m sure many parents feel this way with their children!

When you find yourself complaining, counter the complaint with a “Thank you God for……” (Fill in the blank). I’m sure this will change your perspective on your situation 🙂
