Happy New Year & Anchor Verses

Happy New Year!!! Wishing you a prosperous & abundantly blessed 2013!!

Last year, one of my fellow bloggers presented the idea of an Anchor Verse for the New Year. Last year, I chose:

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” -Psalm 118:24 (KJV)

I feel that I did my best to focus on this scripture throughout 2012, but I definitely could’ve done better. 2012 brought many challenges (my Grandpa passing away, my hairstylist passing away, & so many other things); however, I tried to do my best in finding the good in each day & focusing on God. Because as we know, no matter what, He’s in control & each & every day that He gives us is a precious gift.

I feel that 2013 has great things in store; there are a few things on my “must-do” list that I would love to accomplish with God’s guidance & through prayer. These things have been on my list for awhile, year after year. I’m praying that I get things moving & start to make things happen. Prayerfully, this time next year, I’ll have a Praise Report!

So for 2013, my Anchor Verses are:

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV)

I strive to be better & to do better in 2013; especially on a personal note. I’ve learned from 2012 that this is much needed. Focusing on God & my relationship with Him, balance & joy are key for me.

With this said, there are many things, people, thoughts, actions, & more that will remain in 2012; how can I otherwise achieve what God is calling me to do if I’m holding on to the wrong things, or better yet, not learning from the lessons of 2012?

My prayer for you in 2013 is to focus on God, look for the good in each day, no matter what may come your way, & to live each day to the fullest. We are truly blessed to see another day & year!

Until next time.

Blessings,
