Daily Scriptures 4/1/13

Scriptures: 1 Peter 1:14-16 14As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” (NIV)

Nugget: As we grow in the Lord & change because of our relationships with Him, there are certain things that we shouldn’t do anymore. Some of these changes & actions may come quickly, others may come over a period of time; the point is that we’re changing (or have changed) for the better.

The actions, thoughts, etc. we used to have are no longer part of our routine. God has changed us. We are accountable for what we do. True enough, there are things that we continue to pray on regarding our growth in Him, but we’re all a work in progress—without His help, we won’t be able to do it.

Thanking God for continued growth & change! All because of Him!

Quote: “We become like that which we behold. We will never be transformed into the likeness of God or be conformed to the image of Christ Jesus until we learn how to behold His beauty. To see Him is to be like Him. As David beheld the beauty of the Lord, as he meditated on the glorious perfections and passions of God’s character, he became more like God. More than that, he fell ever more in love with God.” -Sam Storms
