Daily Scriptures 10/7/15

Scripture: Isaiah 55:2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. (NKJV)

Nugget: One thing is for certain, I know a lot of hardworking, dedicated people (myself included). We work to provide for ourselves & our families, as well as progression in the workforce & our careers. Truth be told, we spend more hours at work than we do at home. In most cases, those who work hard, play hard. I can say that I’m still working on balancing things out.

So how do we begin to balance it out? One step is to begin to know Who the source of our blessings are. God blessed us with the jobs, careers, homes, & life. If He’s investing in us, we must invest in our relationships with Him. If we invest completely in work/careers, are we taking the time to develop the relationships needed with God in order to feed our spiritual lives?

We mustn’t forget the good things that satisfy our souls as we work to provide for our daily lives. Balance is needed.

Quote: “Don’t let the abundance of God’s gifts cause you to forget Him.” -Unknown
