Nugget: Obedience; this is something that many individuals struggle with. I remember growing up, when being disobedient, getting punishment for my actions. Those definitely were hard lessons learned, but ones I haven’t forgotten!
The children of Israel were being evil in the sight of the Lord, & faced the consequences of their actions—they were in the hands of the Philistines for 40 years. We may look at them and wonder, “Why in the world did they act that way & face 40 years for their actions?”, but in reality, there are things we do & actions we take that we have let entrap us as well. It may not have lasted 40 years, but it has had a lasting impact on us.
If you’re praying about something & God is giving you direction on it, be obedient & follow Him; He will guide you to what it is you’re seeking. If God is telling you not to move, don’t move; stay put until He tells you want to do next. Obedience is stepping out of God’s way & making room for Him to step in.
