Daily Scriptures 6/28/13

Scripture: Isaiah 65:23 They shall not labor in vain, Nor bring forth children for trouble; For they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the LORD, And their offspring with them. (NKJV)

Nugget: Many times when you ask someone how they are doing, the answer will be “I’m blessed”. It’s awesome that they know this & are speaking it aloud. Because at times, many others do not know how blessed they are.

One of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary’s definitions of blessed is, “bringing pleasure, contentment, or good fortune“. So understanding & feeling we’re blessed means we have pleasure, contentment, and/or good fortune in the Lord. These are all things that a relationship with Him brings.

In the scripture prior to this one, it’s mentioned that God’s people will enjoy the work of their hands; we won’t labor in vain. Our children are blessed because of our actions & how we’re blessed. We’re blessed because of those who came before us.

This scripture doesn’t say that we might be blessed due to those who came before us; it says that we shall be blessed! The same goes for our children. Don’t ever go around thinking that you aren’t blessed or do not having blessings in your life. It is written, so walk in it! When someone asks you how you are doing, reply “I’m blessed” & mean it.

  1. This is an awesome word and I so needed this right now. I've been in a funny place right here lately…and I'm trying to work my way out of it. I've been trying to work on different aspects of speaking things into existence. This will definitely be helpful. Thanks!!
