Daily Scriptures 6/4/13

Scriptures: Genesis 12:1-2 1Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family, And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. 2I will make you a great nation; I will bless you, And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. (NKJV)

Nugget: During my Bible reading time today, I was looking for confirmation regarding stepping out in faith—stepping out of comfort zones. How many times have I read the scriptures above & overlooked one of the important meanings here? God asked Abram (Abraham) to leave the place he knew, to get away from the people he knew, & to leave his home. Abram did just this & went to where God asked him to go.

For Abram, he needed to leave what he knew in order to get to where God wanted him to be. In order to grow, Abram had to go to new places, experience new things, & to let go of what he knew. How many times has God tried to tell us to do the same thing? Sometimes, we try to hold on to the things & people that God wants us to let go of in order to get to that next level. AND we even say we’re moving forward while looking back.

I’m not saying that you have to move to another place to get to where God wants you to be; this stepping out will be different for all of us. But we all know what God is asking us to do in order to move forward in life.

I continue to pray for change & growth; I pray that we not to miss what God is trying to show us regarding stepping out in faith & moving forward! Doing this without looking back; our blessings are tied to our obedience.
