Scripture: John 2:5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” (NKJV)
Nugget: The scriptures prior to this one indicate that Jesus’ mother, Mary, was at a wedding; Jesus & the disciples were invited as well. At some point, they ran out of wine at the wedding. Mary posed this to Jesus, & He responded, “What does your concern have to do with me?” However, He did take steps to alleviate the issue.
In order to help Jesus do this, Mary informed the servants to do whatever Jesus asked them to do. The end result was new pots of wine that were better than the first wine served.
What a reminder for us to do exactly what God tells us to do. If He gives us specific instructions/guidance about a thing, person, situation, work, etc., we should follow it. Of course this comes by listening, fasting, & prayer—building a relationship with Him in order to determine what He’s saying. By being so focused on God, this removes our own opinions & those of others. God will not lead us wrong.
