Scriptures: Genesis 12:4-5 4So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. 5Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan. (NKJV)
Nugget: In the Daily Scriptures from 6/4/13, it was mentioned that Abram stepped out of his comfort zone to do what God asked him to do—leave his country, his home, & the people he knew. Abram did follow God’s command, but he partially followed it—Abram took Lot, his brother’s son, with him. This wasn’t a part of God’s request.
There are so many times that I feel that I’m obeying God, but am I partially obeying Him? Am I picking & choosing what I want to do? I can admit, at times, I’ve fallen short in this area. Then I’m reminded of a saying I’ve heard numerous times, “Everyone cannot go with you.” And maybe this is what God wanted Abram to learn; Lot was not to be a part of God’s plans for the next phase of Abram’s life.
If God is telling us to do something, there is definitely purpose & meaning behind it. We may not know the whole plan, but He does. Don’t hold on to things, people, etc. that God is asking you to let go of. When it’s time for you to “depart” & move forward, know that God has blessing coming your way.

So true Lisi! So many of us have missed out on the blessings of God because we're still associating ourselves with people and things He has commanded us to let go of because we're concerned about what others may think. A good remedy for this ailment is Matthew 10:28, lol! Thanks for sharing Lisi and thanks for linking up…have a lovely weekend!
