Daily Scriptures 9/30/13

Scripture: Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. (NIV)

Nugget: Pride is the characteristic that can make us stand up for what we believe (ex: our country, our school, our military, etc.). But pride can also be the characteristic that represents a character flaw or a down fall. Most times, the most prideful individual is one who does not listen, especially to wisdom or direction from others. It’s the person who’s “hard to get through to”.

Of course there are times when we must display pride, but don’t let these be the times in which humility disappears & we lose the chance at gaining wisdom, or even displaying wisdom.

These characteristics are ones that we’ll need to balance accordingly.

Quote: “A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you.” -C.S. Lewis
