Daily Scriptures 8/7/14

Scripture: Numbers 9:8 And Moses said to them, “Stand still, that I may hear what the LORD will command concerning you.” (NKJV)

Nugget: Moses awaited God’s response regarding questions concerning the Israelites; they came to Moses with questions in which Moses wanted a clear understanding from God on how to respond & proceed. In doing this, Moses told them to stand still in order for him to hear God’s command.

What a reminder for us to be still in order to hear God; I continually learn the importance of this daily. Many times, we hurriedly pray, rush through the conversation with God, & never hear His response. There was a reason why Moses told the Israelites to stand still in order for him to hear God—there were things going on.

May we pray, be still, & wait to hear & listen what God is guiding us to do. Sometimes, our answers are in the midst of connecting with God in the stillness.

Quote: “We need silence to be alone with God, to speak to him, to listen to him, to ponder his words deep in our hearts. We need to be alone with God in silence to be renewed and transformed. Silence gives us a new outlook on life. In it we are filled with the energy of God himself that makes us do all things with joy.” –Mother Teresa
