Daily Scriptures 11/17/14

Scriptures: Romans 8:24-25 24We were saved, and we have this hope. If we see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People do not hope for something they already have. 25But we are hoping for something we do not have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently. (NCV)

Nugget: Faith & trust—these go hand-in-hand when we’re praying & seeking something from God. True faith is being able to have hope in the things we do not see & knowing that God is working things out for our good. There may be things, people, family members, & circumstances that we’ve prayed about for years, feeling as if there is nothing happening; but we have to know that God is working it out.

Hope doesn’t occur for the things we already have; these things are right in front of us. The things that we wait for God to answer us on are what keep us connected to Him, praying consistently, & awaiting His promise.

Continue to seek Him, waiting patiently for His answer & direction.

Quote: “God makes a promise. Faith believes it. Hope anticipates it. Patience quietly awaits it.” -Unknown
